In 2000, a translation error prevents Sami, a Syrian translator for the Olympic team, from returning to Syria and he becomes a political refugee in Australia. When the 2011 uprising in Damascus erupts, his brother is arrested and Sami returns to his country despite the dangers to try to free his brother
