The film "Des Figues en Avril" draws a funny and moving portrait of Messaouda Dendoune, filmed by her son Nadir. Beyond the endearing, mischievous, determined and passionate personality of the 82-year-old woman, we discover her daily life in her two-room apartment on the Ile Saint Denis, punctuated by the invisible presence of the absent. She is now learning to live alone since her husband Mohand, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease, has been placed in a nursing home. Messaouda, lulled by her emblematic Kabyle singers, such as Slimane Azem, tells with pride about her working-class France and the future of her children.
