Two cultural events at the Château de Voltaire

The Festival is also a cultural meeting place. Linked to the film festival, we are happy to offer different artistic presentations that accompany the F5C themes about the human condition.
In 2020, for the first time at the Château de Voltaire and our partner – Centre des Monuments Nationaux.

Wednesday 23 September at 20:30 – Vincent is read to music

A musical play based on Vincent van Gogh’s letters and writings, by the actor, writer, and director Maxime Motte, accompanied by the pianist José Abel Gonzales

Van Gogh’ poetic letters with the music of Claude Debussy, Robert Schumann, Maurice Ravel …
A duet for piano and voice: together, they paint a light sketch of a mysterious artist, vibrant with humanity. Van Gogh’s paintings are among the most famous in the world, but the artist remains largely enigmatic.

Thursday 24 September at 20:30 – Recital on the theme of the 2020 Festival

Performed by the soprano and opera singer Marjorie Muray-Motte

Marjorie Muray-Motte began her international career at the age of 24 at the prestigious festival of Bayreuth in Germany, where she sang Isabella in Liebesverbot (The Ban on Love) by Wagner.
Soprano assoluta, she has performed in operas from Mozart to Wagner in China, England, France, Germany, Italy, Morocco and Tunisia, as well as Pulchinella by Stravinski, Lobesgesang by Mendelssohn, Elena in Midsummer Night’s Dream, Bizet’s Carmen and Verdi’s Aïda.
