World Village
A space for sharing with the community
While the reels unfold on the screen, the Village becomes the heartbeat of the Festival. Beneath the soft glow of fairy lights or the flicker of projections, people dine, laugh, and share their stories — like one big family brought together by a common vision. Between artists, speakers, photographers, and associations, invisible threads of sharing are woven. No other festival in the region offers such a laboratory of collective life and radiant conviviality.
“Much more than a place — a suspended moment where the world is reinvented together.”

Crossed perspectives through images and testimonies
Two exhibitions enrich the Festival experience at the World Village.
“Kurdish Women, Freedom!”: presented by Sylvie Jan and Michel Laurent, co-founders of the France-Kurdistan association, this exhibition showcases 14 portraits of heroic Kurdish women facing Daesh — feminists and united in solidarity. A pedagogical exhibition accompanied by free public talks (Sept 27 at 5 p.m., Sept 28 at 5 p.m., Oct 1 at 7:30 p.m., Oct 2 at 11 a.m., Oct 5 at 3 p.m.).
Photo Exhibition: in the Maison du Projet hall, discover throughout the week the creations of the Saint-Genis Loisirs Photo Workshop, open access.
Meals at the World Village
Every evening of the Festival, from 6:30 p.m. (except Tuesday, September 30), the World Village comes alive with meals prepared by local associations. An invitation to travel through world cuisines, discover new flavors, and share a warm moment before or after the screenings.
These meals are a chance to meet other festivalgoers, exchange with guests, and extend the experience in a friendly and gourmet atmosphere.
