Behind every image are the women and men who make cinema: film composers, directors of photography, editors, costume designers, sound recordists…

During the Festival des 5 Continents, these event sessions offer rare encounters with French and international film professionals, who come to share their craft, their path and their everyday life on set.

Here, cinema is revealed as a craft: precise gestures, creative choices, trials, mistakes and a lot of passion. A unique chance to see how a film is really built, and perhaps to picture yourself in these behind-the-scenes trades too.

FILM DUOS: ONE PERSPECTIVE, TWO FILMS

During these screenings, two films are presented in the presence of their directors, who discuss their artistic choices and creative journeys.

PASCAL PLISSON

8 HOURS TO MAKE A FILM

A collective adventure for 12–16-year-olds: write, shoot and edit a short film in one day, guided by film professionals.

  • Saturday 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. – Voltaire Cinema (registration required)

BREAKFAST WITH A FILMMAKER

A special opportunity to chat over coffee and croissants with a filmmaker invited to the Festival.

  • Coffee & croissants on Sunday 27 at 9:30 a.m. at Maison du Projet (upon registration)

AMERICA FOCUS: FILMS & FILMMAKERS

Two screenings in the presence of the filmmakers.
