The F5C, 21th edition

A journey with many stops

Every year, F5C opens a window – not onto a simple calendar, but onto a vibrant world that breathes through images and cinematic storytelling. Since 2005, driven by the Cultures et Cinémas association, this cross-border Franco-Genevan Festival weaves invisible bridges between continents, emotions and human stories. Its motto — “a window open onto the world” — becomes a promise of shared humanity.

F5C Festival

One world, a thousand perspectives

From Egypt to Ukraine, from Palestine to Iran, from Africa to Venezuela, women and men film their realities, sometimes at the risk of their lives. These singular voices sketch a plural humanity: a cinema of conviction, resistance, and hope.
For this 20th edition, F5C – the biggest film event in the Pays de Gex – invites audiences from the region, Switzerland and beyond to discover films that bear witness to the world’s fractures, but also to the vitality of cultures and imaginations.

The guests

This year, more than 20 guests from around the world

Filmmakers, actresses, actors, protagonists, composers, screenwriters – will come to engage with audiences through screenings, discussions, masterclasses and workshops.

Guest of honour

A powerful moment will mark the opening

the presence of Hamdan Ballal, guest of honour. His film No Other Land, winner of three F5C awards in 2024 and the Academy Award for Best Documentary, will be screened as the opening film, for the first time in the festival’s history.
