Making cinema a space for dialogue and encounter
Founded in 2000 by Jean-Pierre Murand, the Cultures et Cinémas (C&C) Association was born with a dual ambition: to promote cinema in the Pays de Gex and to preserve its venues. In 2006, it gave birth to the Five Continents Festival (F5C), whose 21th edition will take place in 2026.
Passionate about the 7th art and its power to open windows onto the world, the association has kept this unique festival alive for over twenty years, while offering screenings, encounters and discussions throughout the year.
A free, open and inclusive cinema
At the heart of its work, the Cultures et Cinémas Association champions a cinema that is independent, curious and accessible to everyone. C&C’s mission is simple and essential: to share cinema as a space for discovery, transmission and intercultural dialogue. Every film becomes an invitation to travel, a way to question our times and nurture the bond between generations and cultures.
Recognised as being of general interest, the association thrives thanks to the energy of its volunteers and the support of its members. Together, they turn the Festival and C&C’s activities into a collective, friendly and civic-minded adventure, where cinema is celebrated as a universal art that brings people together.
